Rigidity of lattices in Lie groups

Lattices in Lie groups are of importance in Geometry, Number Theory, Dynamics among other areas. We will attempt to describe a beautiful phenomenon about the lack of flexibility of these objects in higher dimensions, including classical theorems of Mostow and Margulis, and more recent developments. All concepts will be explained.
