The BS in Data Science provides students with a background in mathematics, statistics, and programming. This program has a track system. Each track represents a specialized area/subject.
Tracks:
- Behavioral Sciences
- Biosciences
- Business Analytics
- Computer Science
- Mathematics
- Social Sciences
- Spatial Sciences
Besides acquiring general data science skills, the track system allows students to specialize in a specific area of interest. In addition to the core courses required for all tracks, each track offers a list of courses from which students will choose to complete their track.
Students do not have to select a specific track as soon as they enroll in the program. It is recommended that students choose a track and start taking track-specific courses in their second year of the program.
Important: A student cannot choose courses from more than one track. Once the student decides which track to complete, they must take all track-specific courses from that particular track. If a student decides to switch their track, the track-specific courses taken from the older track cannot be counted towards the new track.
