ASU recognized as a Center of Actuarial Excellence

Arizona State University’s actuarial science program is now recognized by the Society of Actuaries as a Center of Actuarial Excellence (CAE).

Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU)

REUs are excellent opportunities to gain hands-on research experience while completing your undergraduate degree. REUs are available throughout the academic year, and at institutions across the country - including ASU. Many REU programs are available during the summer months.

Teaching Assistantships

Applicants interested in applying for financial assistance can do so in their online application.

Teaching assistantships in the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences are awarded in early spring for the following academic year (fall semester). Admission decisions are made first, followed by offers for TA positions.

The School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences will continue to review applications for fall admission to our PhD programs until July 1st of the preceding summer. However, decisions for TA and RA fellowships are typically made much earlier in the admissions cycle.  Typically, the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences makes 10-20 offers for new teaching assistantships in an admissions cycle. These positions are competitive and interested applicants are encouraged to apply early.

Plan a visit to explore our campus

If you want to learn more about the Sun Devil experience at Arizona State University, we encourage you to plan a visit to the Tempe campus. You’ll get more than just a tour; you’ll be a part of our community for a few hours. You’ll stroll down popular walking corridors with many of our scholars as you take in the beautiful architecture and subtropical landscaping – great sights in the middle of the Arizona desert.
