Student Ambassador Program

The School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences Student Ambassador Program is an opportunity for academically successful upperclassmen who aspire to be leaders to interact with new and continuing mathematics students.

Every semester, the program coordinators organize events aimed at retaining students in the BS Mathematics and BA Mathematics programs. The SoMSS Student Ambassador Program initiative strives to build community among our undergraduates, celebrate their achievements, and promote a vibrant, open exchange of ideas.

Arizona State University's retention goals include:

  • Improving first-year retention rates
  • Increasing the six-year graduation rate
  • Increasing student enrollment
  • Engaging students from all backgrounds

This program provides our student ambassadors an opportunity to get involved in activities outside of the usual classroom setting and to achieve the recognition that comes with community service. Ambassadors serve as approachable resources for students by answering questions, participating in events, and creating their own initiatives. Above all, the program is designed to be fun and relaxing for both the new and the seasoned mathematics majors.

Email the Student Ambassador Program if you have questions.
