Course description: Robust treatment of advanced algebraic skills and trigonometry that are vital in calculus. Algebra topics include functions, compositions, inverses, transformations, complex numbers, roots of polynomial functions, rational functions, exponential and logarithmic functions and their properties. Trigonometry is approached via the unit circle as well as the right triangle. Topics include the trigonometric functions, their graphs and identities, inverse trigonometry, and the laws of sine and cosine.
Students in select majors offered by the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences have the opportunity to earn a Master’s degree within five years as a part of an accelerated program (4+1).
The following bachelor degrees are eligible for the 4+1 program towards a Master of Arts in Mathematics.
