The school typically pays ASU tuition for full-time doctoral students with 20 hour-per-week graduate teaching or research assistantships. In 2019-20, this is a direct benefit of between $12,608 (for Arizona residents) and $29,149(for international students) per academic year. Fellowships and awards

Doctoral students are encouraged to apply for fellowships through the National Institutes of Health National Research Service Award program and through the National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship Program. Degree qualifications

Applicants are eligible to apply to the program if they have earned a bachelors degree or master's degree in mathematics or a closely related area from a regionally accredited or reputable international institution.

Students applying directly from an undergraduate program must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) overall and in Mathematics courses.
