Major Requirements

The bachelor degree in Actuarial Science requires a minimum of 120 credit hours, including 62 credit hours of work for the major. The program exposes the students to the following Society of Actuaries (SOA) and Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) preliminary exams: P/1, FM/2, FAM, ALTAM, ASTAM, SRM, MAS-I, MAS-II, and Exam 5 and enables completion of the VEE requirements.

If the MathJax library is installed properly, you should see the square root of x here: $ \sqrt{x} $ and the square root of y here: \(\sqrt{y}\)

$$\text{The quadratic formula should appear here: } x = \frac {-b \pm \sqrt {b^2 - 4ac}}{2a}$$

Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU)

REUs are excellent opportunities to gain hands-on research experience while completing your undergraduate degree. REUs are available throughout the academic year, and at institutions across the country - including ASU. Many REU programs are available during the summer months.

Teaching Assistantships

Applicants interested in applying for financial assistance can do so in their online application.

Teaching assistantships in the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences are awarded in early spring for the following academic year (fall semester). Admission decisions are made first, followed by offers for TA positions.
