Abstract

In this expository talk, I will talk about the landmark quantum complexity result MIP*=RE. This is connected to many problems in both physics and operator algebras, and famously is how the Connes Embedding Problem was disproved. I will explain how the long chain of equivalences work, and some of the ideas behind the proof of MIP*=RE.
