Students-only panel: How to choose an advisor

-
Abstract

One of the most important choices a graduate student will make is choosing an advisor. Connect with senior graduate students in the math, applied math, statistics, and math education programs in this closed-door panel to learn the academic, social, and psychological factors they considered when choosing their advisors. All students, including first and second-year graduate students and those interested in graduate school, are invited!

This event is students-only and will be closed to faculty for the first hour! Dr. Sharon Crook will join us at 4:30pm to give a faculty member's perspective on the advisor/advisee relationship and how faculty identify students to supervise. Faculty are welcome to join at this time.
