Abstract
In this talk I introduce the basics of etale groupoid C*-algebras. This will be done in the not necessarily Hausdorff setting as most of the construction goes through just as in the Hausdorff case with a few modifications. This case is important because a natural generalization of transformation groups may arise as a non-Hausdorff groupoid. These are the groupoid of germs, which I will discuss at the end of the talk.
