Abstract

Naneh Apkarian conducts research in undergraduate mathematics education. She will discuss how she chose this area of research, provide a broad overview of what it means to study undergraduate mathematics education in general, and present some of her prior findings and future directions. These include how students think about particular mathematics content, applications of social network analysis to understand a math department’s teaching culture, and creating inclusive educational experiences. There will be time for questions and discussion.
