Paul Vaz received a Ph.D. in differential geometry from Arizona State University, where he researched the generalization of the Hodge-deRham Theorem. Vaz has taught a wide range of courses from College Algebra to Applied Linear Algebra and Mathematical Structures. He plays an integral part in the development and teaching of online courses which include Calculus for Engineers II, and III, Modern Differential Equations and Applied Linear Algebra. Vaz also directs Honors Thesis for senior graduating students. Vaz chairs the First Year Mathematics Seminar Committee. He is the recipient of the school's Excellence in Teaching Award in 1995, and the Distinguished Teaching Award for Teaching Assistants in 1996.
