This talk is part of the Professional Development seminar offered for graduate students in mathematics programs, including all the SOMSS graduate degree programs. We will discuss professional opportunities after the doctorate.

Jodi Mead is a professor of mathematics at Boise State University and currently a co-Director for the PhD in Computing. She earned her doctorate at ASU in 1998 working with professor Rosie Renaut. Upon graduation, she held a postdoc in the College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences at Oregon State under the direction of Andrew Bennett. Mead has lead multiple NSF funded projects, involving data assimilation and inverse methods applied to geoscience fields ranging from oceanography, atmospheric sciences, hydrology, and geophysics.
