Research

Dr. Zandieh conducts research in how students learn undergraduate mathematics.  She has a long standing interest in how students learn specific topics in calculus and differential equations. More recently she has also been working on undergraduate students' understanding of the role of mathematical definitions and their strategies of argumentation and proof, especially in the context of geometry. She is interested primarily in qualitative research methods including individual interviews and classroom teaching experiments
