ath Spans All Dimensions is the theme of Mathematics Awareness Month, April 2000. Indeed, mathematics informs and transforms our daily lives like it never has before. It works on all scales, from the structure of the atom to the structure of the universe; and on all time scales, from the life of an antiparticle to the life of a star.

World Mathematical Year

It helps us look into the past, and to predict the future. It relates to all our senses; it provides insight into the human brain and it illuminates the human condition.

The cornucopia pictured above provides an apt symbol for Math Awareness Month 2000. It expands not only in size, but in dimension. It is colorful. It is a horn of plenty.
