Course Description: Theoretical and computational neuroscience
approaches seek to analyze and understand the behavior and function of neural
systems at many different levels. This course focuses on
modeling and analysis techniques at the network and systems levels. Broadly, topics
will include non-oscillatory and oscillatory networks at the circuit and large network
levels and models of learning and memory. Theoretical and computational approaches will be
presented in the context of both invertebrate and vertebrate neural systems. The course
will end with presentations by students on projects of their choosing.
Prerequisites: MAT 274 (Elementary
Differential Equations) or an equivalent course.
