Text: James Stewart, Calculus: Concepts and Contexts (Single Variable)
Description: This course completes the study of single-variable calculus. Topics covered include methods of integration, improper integrals, polar coordinates, infinite sequences and series, and an introduction to differential equations.
Grading: One-period tests
(4): 60%
Projects, Homework and Classwork: 25%
Final Exam: 15%
All tests, homework and projects must be done neatly using correct
mathematical notation, grammar, and spelling. No late assignments
or make-up exams will be allowed without permission in advance AND either
a notice for a UMaine sponsored event or a medical doctor's excuse in the
case of illness. Students may work together on homework, classwork
and the project but the work must be done cooperatively; no copying is
allowed. Dishonest behavior during exams will result in a grade of zero
for that assignment and will be reported.
