GAANN Graduate Fellowships
The Claremont Graduate University Mathematics Department
has a U. S. Department of Education grant that slows it to offer GAANN (Graduate
Assistance in Areas of National Need) fellowships for students. The fellowships
are intended for students:
- intending to teach at the graduate level, AND
- interested in gaining an applied math Ph.D.
These funds provide a $15,000 stipend plus full tuition
at CGU beginning in September, 2001.
Successful fellows in addition to receiving graduate education
will:
- Have the opportunity to experience mathematics applied
in real situations in the Claremont Mathematics Clinic projects.
- Receive teaching mentoring at Pomona and Harvey Mudd
College.
Further information on the Claremont Mathematics program
is available at:

Students may apply on-line on the CGU Website (under "Prospective
Students," Admissions). The deadline for applications is March 15.
