Awards made through the Department of Mathematics and Statistics

Charles Wexler Awards
There are two awards made each year, one for the best undergraduate
student (typically awarded to a senior), and one for the best
undergraduate teacher in the department.

Andre Levard Mackey Scholarship
An award made by the ASU Math department to an undergraduate
mathematics major with financial need and a good academic record. The
recipient should have an interest in computers and an appreciation of
their role in contemporary mathematics

Joaquin Bustoz Memorial Scholarship
An award made by the ASU Math department to a full-time undergraduate
student, majoring in mathematics, who has successfully completed the
ASU Summer Math-Science Honors program.

The Actuarial Sciences Scholarship
An award administered by the Math Department in conjunction with
members of the Arizona Actuarial Club to an undergraduate interested
in pursuing a career as an actuary.

The Undergraduate Research Award
An award through the Math Department for the best research project
by an undergraduate for the year.

Jack H. Hawes Memorial Research
Scholarship
An award through the Math Department to a full-time undergraduate student
majoring in mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and
Statistics, ASU main campus. The recipient must be a resident of
Arizona with documented financial need. The recipient will
pursue a research project under the supervision of a (tenure track)
member of the department.

Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship
and Excellence in Education Program
A national scholarship program for future scientists, mathematicians,
and engineers.

Truman Scholarship Foundation
A national scholarship for students planning to pursue graduate degrees
in public service fields.
Students must be college juniors at the time of selection.

Morris K. Udall Foundation
A national scholarship for sophomore and junior-level college students
who have demonstrated commitment to careers related to the environment
or have demonstrated commitment to careers related to tribal public
policy or health care, and are Native American or Alaska Native.

CLAS Dean's Circle Scholarship
for 2007-08 [PDF]
This scholarship is open to undergraduate students in the College of
Liberal Arts & Sciences (CLAS) at any level. The award is $1,000.
Each department in CLAS administers the application process and selects
one student as a winner. Deadline = 2/15/07!

GAANN Graduate Fellowships
Fellowships for students who want to persue graduate education in
applied math at the Claremont Graduate University Mathematics Department

Alfred C. Knight
Scholarship
An ASU scholarship for incoming freshmen who is an outstanding
graduate of an AZ high school with a declared major in Mathematics
or the Sciences.
