Differential Equations and Mathematical Biology

Mathematical Biology deals with the formulation, analysis, simulation and validation of mathematical models of biological phenomena. ASU has one of the largest faculty of any university devoted to research in this new and fast growing field and an outstanding record of producing and placing Ph.D students. The group is strongly connected to researchers in the School of Life Sciences and local research hospitals. Our research falls within the broad categories of population dynamics, epidemiology, biotechnology, within-host disease dynamics, and neuroscience. Our group has mathematical expertise in differential equations and their analysis and in probability.
