Conference is dedicated to Professor Basil Nicolaenko

This year's Los Alamos-Arizona Days are dedicated to Basil Nicolaenko for his role in founding of the Center for Nonlinear Studies in Los Alamos and his many important contributions to nonlinear science. The conference, Emerging Paradigms in Nonlinear Science takes place January 25-28, 2006, and takes place at the Robert J. Oppenheimer Center at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).

The first two days of the conference will be survey talks from some of the leaders in nonlinear and computational science. This will be followed on Friday and Saturday by the annual joint Los Alamos,University of New Mexico, University of Arizona, and Arizona State University workshop in nonlinear and computational science. This long-standing workshop tradition of good science, good fun focuses on the emerging research by junior scientists, postdocs, and senior graduate students giving short 25-minute talks on problems in nonlinear science that they are most excited about.
