NewsProf. Castillo-Chavez honored with Mentor Award02/13/2008 Congratulations to Prof. Castillo-Chavez for receiving the 2007 AAAS Mentor Award from the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Prof. Castillo-Chavez has been honored for his effort to help underrepresented students succeed in their graduate studies. Professor of the Year11/06/2007 Congratulations to Professor Carlos Castillo-Chavez for his nomination to the 2007 Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching U.S. Professors of the Year program. PhD Program in Mathematics Education ranked 14th10/30/2007 The PhD Program in Mathematics Education was ranked 14th in the recent AMS Doctoral Programs in Mathematics Education in the United States: 2007 Status Report (AMS Notices, 50, 10, 2007, 1283-1293). Congratulations to Math Education faculty and students! Undergraduate math students go to AMUC05/02/2007 ASU undergraduates David Hayden, Ilyssa Summer, Jonathan Mullen, Kate Mullen, Micah Mangione, Miguel Sanchez, Parnell Maxwell, Steven Rosenthal, and Russell Latterman gave talks at the 4th Arizona Mathematics Undergraduate Conference held recently at Western New Mexico University in Silver City. Glenn Hurlbert served on the organizing committee and gave a plenary lecture. ASU students presented talks on projects supervised by department faculty Anne Gelb, Matthias Kawski, Pat Thompson, Yang Kuang, Alex Mahalov, and Basil Nikolaenko. News Archives |
