Graduate Travel Award
Travel grant application process:
- Complete the Mathematics Department Travel Request form
- Complete the Graduate Student Travel Support application

Submit the Graduate College Conference Travel Grant application according to their posted deadline.
The graduate committee will also be ranking the top two
applicants according to the guidelines below and submitting
them for funding from the graduate college
Please ensure that your applications are on time.

Student requests will be granted according to the guidelines below.

The graduate committee will consider funding of up to $1000. Decisions will be e-mailed to applicants approximately one week
after their requests.
Departmental Guidelines for Ranking Graduate Travel Grant Requests:
- Application material must be submitted at least three
weeks prior to travel (according to the departmental
guidelines).
- The student has applied to give a talk or present a poster. An abstract must be provided in the application. Active
participation in either specialized workshops or conferences will also be considered. The student must provide a detailed
explanation of why such participation will be useful in his/her research.
- The request is supported by the student's advisor.
- When possible, the student has requested outside funding (e.g. from the conference, NSF, advisor,GPSA etc.).
- The student is making sufficient academic progress in completing written exams.
- The student is performing TA/RA duties satisfactorily.
