Maximum and minimum values of a function.

To find the maximum or minimum value of a function, we will use the graph. Input the function in Y1. Set the viewing window to [-6.3,6.3] by [-20,42]. (This is just one window that will give you a good picture.) Press F6 to draw and see the graph on the screen. Now use G-Solv (Shift F5) then choose MAX (F2) or MIN (F3). Your calculator will trace along the graph and find the maximum or minimum values.
