  • MAT 117 College Algebra (Distance Learning)

  • Pre-requisites: Must have completed MAT 106 or MAT 113 with a grade of C or greater OR must have completed the Unified Math Placement Exam with a score of 60 or higher.
    Description: Linear and quadratic functions, polynomial and rational functions, logarithmic and exponential functions, systems of equations. Credit is allowed for only MAT 117 or 113. Fee (online only).

  • MAT 142 College Mathematics (not* Distance Learning)

Pre-requisites: Must have completed the Unified Math Placement Exam with a score of 60 or higher*
Requirement Designation: Satisfies General Studies - MA
Description: Applies basic college-level mathematics to real-life problems. This is a survey of logic, sets and counting, probability, statistics, geometry, rates of change and general numeracy. Appropriate for students whose major does not require MAT 117 or 170.

* This is an on-campus, on-line study. Students enrolled in these sections will test on campus and are expected to take advantage of ASU Tempe Campus tutoring resources and instructor office hours.

MAT 210 Brief Calculus (Distance Learning)

Pre-requisites: Must have completed one of the following courses with a grade of C or greater or be currently enrolled: MAT 113, MAT 117, MAT 119 or MAT 170 OR Must have completed the Unified Math Placement Exam with a score of 75 or higher
Requirement Designation: Satisfies General Studies - MA
Description: Differential and integral calculus of elementary functions with applications. Not open to students with credit in MAT 260 or 270 or 290. FeeĀ (online only).
