Major Objectives of Chapter 8:  Analyzing Data

 

o       organize and create one- and two-variable data in tables, graphs, and charts;

o       describe and interpret the central tendencies for a data set using mean, median, and mode;

o       compare two or more data sets in terms of their dispersion using range, standard deviation, and quartiles;

o       use statistics to present, explain and interpret data;

o       construct and analyze arguments built around data sets; and

o       use knowledge of data to solve problems and make decisions.
