Polynomial
Division
When you are done with this
section, you will be able to do the following
- Divide polynomials using long division
- Divide polynomials using synthetic division
- Use the Remainder Theorem to evaluate a polynomial
- Use the Factor Theorem to factor a polynomial
Right now the best place to find information about polynomial division
(both long and synthetic), the Remainder Theorem, and the Factor
Theorem are your text book.

Polynomial Division Homework:
The
Polynomial Division Homework contains 4 problems.
Things to remember:
- Always fill in any missing power of x
between the degree of the divisor and 0 with 0 time x to the
missing power. Do the same for any missing powers of x in
the dividend
Keep in mind that it is recommended
that you
also complete all the
problems in the set called "also
recommended" with the same number as the Polynomial Division Homework. There
are
many different ways to ask the same questions. This will allow
you to see additional problems that are related to this topic.
